Udimore Parish Council

Welcome to the website for Udimore in East Sussex. We hope that you will discover interesting and useful information about our parish, its community and its Parish Council.

Parish Councils form the lowest tier of local government in East Sussex. Udimore Parish Council represents local residents and works with East Sussex County Council and Rother District Council to deliver services to meet local needs  and to improve the quality of life in the parish.

The County Council and the District Council have a wider range of powers and responsibilities and much larger budgets than the Parish Council. On some matters they are required to consult with the Parish Council before they take action which may affect residents.

Udimore Parish Council is completely separate from the local Parochial Church Council which is part of the Church of England and is responsible for St Mary’s Church.

Udimore Parish Council has 5 councillors who are elected every 4 years. Councillors are unpaid but have the services of a part-time (6½ hours per week) paid Clerk to the Council. For contact details see our Councillors page.

The Council meets in public at 6.30pm usually on the 3rd Wednesday of alternate months in the Community Hall. Visit Meeting Dates to find out more.

A notice advertising each meeting is displayed on the parish notice board in Church Lane four days before the meeting. Agendas and minutes for the meetings are also published on this website.
